The American Exotic Bully is a short-haired dog of robust appearance somewhat heavy, rather short in stature, wide, Powerful and compact, small to medium size dog with abstruse but distinctive physique without tendency to obesity. A block head, relatively short face, wide muzzle, Dogs showing respiratory problems are highly undesirable. You must show an effortless movement you must be active and alert to your environment. Females not as structured as males.
It should give the impression of determination, strength and activity. Alert, brave, loyal, dependent, courageous, fierce in appearance, but possessing an affective nature. The American Exotic Bully is an excellent companion for the family and has always been known for his love of children. The American Exotic Bully partners with its owner carefully. Aggressive behavior towards humans and other dogs is not characteristic of the breed and is highly undesirable.
The main feature of the breed is its warmth, of medium length, with a wide, strong well-sculpted, wide and square skull, very pronounced cheek muscles, marked naso-frontal depression(stop) and high implantation ears. The head is covered by skin, which forms symmetrical folds and wrinkles without excess.
Skull: Wide, almost flat between the ears; vaulted forehead. The superciliary arches are prominent and are separated by a particularly pronounced groove between the eyes. The groove should not extend to the skull. The external occipital protrusion is barely developed
Naso-frontal depression (stop): Marked.
Seen from the front, the various properties of the face, must be equally balanced towards both sides of an imaginary central line.
Nose: The nose is large with wide, open nasal windows. The nose can be any solid color, the marbled nose is a serious fault.
Muzzle: The muzzle is short in length, square, wide and deep from the stop to the nose, and falling sharply under the eyes. The length of the muzzle is shorter than the length of the skull. The jaws are well defined. The lower jaw is strong and well developed, wide and deep, heavy wrinkle over the nose is unacceptable and should be severely penalized.

Teeth: They are white and developed on a regular basis; they are well aligned and complete without excessive spaces between them. The joint is in the form of a reverse scissors, that is, the lower incisors cover the upper ones with close contact and are implanted in the vertical of the jaws; or it can be a level joint is tolerable, or a prognathism for more than 5 mm is very undesirable
Cheeks: The muscles of the cheeks are very prominent.
Eyes: The eye shape is oval almond-shaped preferably of low implantation in the skull. Well separated, however the outer angles within the outer line of the cheeks are well sunk into the orbits and well separated, dark in color. There should be no depigmentation on the eyelids, tempt a lively and penetrating look, Free of obvious eye problems.
Ears: High insertion, that is, the leading edge of each ear (front view) touches the edge of the skull in its upper margin, so that they are as far apart from each other, as high and separated from the eyes as possible. Small and thin “pink-shaped ears” is correct, that is to say that internal wrinkles fall backwards, the upper edge, inner front, curving outwards and backwards, showing part of the inside of the ear canal or semi-erect. Completely hanging ears are not desired.
The neck is strong and short, slightly arched. The neck widens gradually towards the shoulders. The skin of the neck is firm and without jowls.
Compact and powerful very massive, with well-arched ribs and deep from the region of the cruz to the chest, in such a way that the latter reaches closer to the ground than the abdomen, in females the body can be a little longer.
Back: Short, strong, wide back at the height of the scapulae the dorsal line behind the cross is horizontal and arches slightly towards the back.
Loin: Short and well muscled.
Rump: Long and wide, slightly inclined.
Chest: Wide, prominent, deep chest descends a little beyond the elbow. Body with well-defined ribs backwards. Thorax rounded and deep. Well descended between the front legs. Ribs not being flat on the sides, well rounded
Lower line and belly: From the thorax to the abdomen should form an elegant upward curve, retracted abdomen but not agalgado.
The tail is located as a natural extension of the upper line and tapers to a point. When the dog is relaxed, the tail is carried low and extends approximately to the hock. When the dog is moving, the tail is brought to the level of the top line. When the dog is excited, the tail can be carried in an elevated position, upright (challenging tail), but never curled on the back (Gay tail). Long tails on hocks, kinks and knots are serious, but not disqualifying, missing. The tail is naturally short, ideally of sufficient length to cover the anus.
The dog must have good forequarters and perfectly parallel. In adult specimens, the length of the front limbs should be approximately equal to the depth of the thorax giving the appearance of a square.
Shoulders: Broad shoulders with sloping and deep scapulae, very powerful and muscular giving the appearance of being attached to the body.
Elbows: Low elbows and well away from the ribs without being lax.
Arms: Forelegs very stocky, short and strong, well developed, inserted well apart, thick, muscular and straight, the bones of the legs are large and straight, not warped or curved.
Metacarpals: Perpendicular, short, powerful, and flexible. When viewed in profile, metacarpals should be erected with a slight arc
Anterior feet: Round, compact, of small dimensions call it “cat’s foot”, turned slightly outwards. The fingers are tight, the nails short, thick and solid.
Seen from behind the hindlimbs are very muscular and wide parallels.
Thigh: Well developed and muscular

Leg: Well developed and muscular.
Hocks: In a low position and should not deviate either inwards or outwards with a good angulation
Metatarsus: Short and strong bones up to the feet.
Back feet: Round and compact with well-arched toes
Walking with short, quick steps over the tips of the toes, the hind feet do not rise high, appearing to brush the floor, encompassing terrain evenly with easy steps and with a typically jovial air. When jogging, the movement must be parallel in front and back, only converging towards a central point at faster speed. The forelimbs should be carried well forward and the hind limbs should move evenly at the height of the hips, flexing them well in the knees and in the hocks and with a lot of thrust, without swaying or ambladura. When trotting the top line remains straight with slight bending to indicate strength. The solidity of the movement is of the utmost importance.
Hair: Fine textured, short, glued, smooth and shiny (hard only for the short and glued, not wire) without undercoat
Color: All colors are accepted. , there will be no differences with solid dogs or with color patterns all will be judged equally

• Males should have two normal-looking testicles completely descended into the scrotum.
• Only functionally and clinically healthy dogs, with the typical conformation of the breed, should be used for breeding.
